y INAUGURATION OF ART EXHBITION

On 1st February, 2007.  Indian Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Balkrishna Shetty,  and Mr. Ali M Al Mahmeed  inaugurated the Exhibition -  ‘RU – BA – RU’ at  The Bahrain Arts Society being held under the patronage of  Under Secretary  for Nationality, Passports & Residence and Society’s Hony. President, Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.      H.E. Mr. Simon Wilson, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India was also present on the occasion.

More than 100 people including artists, Ambassadors of  Iraq, Turkey, France, Malaysia, VIPs , Industrialists  and prominent local citizens  attended the show.   In all  80 paintings / works of art were on display.  The event was well covered by Radio Bahrain, Press and TV.
 


   



   
 

y AUCTION   y

On 3rd February, 2007  all the paintings on show were put up for auction by  The Bahrain Arts Society,  a part of the proceeds of which was committed to Children & Mothers Welfare Society (CMWS),  Isa Town.

The auction was conducted by the celebrated  Radio Jockey,  Mr. Kevin Howarth and was attended by prominent citizens of Bahrain.
 

y DONATION TO  CHILDREN & MOTHERS  WELFARE SOCIETY y

On 4th February, 2007  The Bahrain Arts Society in association with Jagriti Art Initiative presented a cheque of US$.2000 by its Advisor, Mrs. Heather Wilson and Mr. Gaurang Jalan of Jagriti Art Initiative to  Shaikha Lulwa Bint Mohd. Al Khalifa, President of the Children and Mothers Welfare Society (CMWS) in presence of Secretary,  Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al  Khalifa,   the British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India, Mr. Simon Wilson,     Planning & Development Committee President,  Shaikha Ayesha Bin Salman Al Khalifa and Foreign Embassy Co-ordinator,  Benedita Budhagher.   The event was covered by local Press and TV.
